Call Now: 01903 724553 Company Profile Dean Carpets (Littlehampton) was started by Mike Gibbs in September 1980. In 1987 the business was bought by Roy Hamilton, who had been its manager since it opened. Mr Hamilton employed Chris Burgess in the same year and two years later employed Trevor Long. During the early nineties Chris and Trevor bought in to the business and became joint partners with Roy. In 1997 another branch was opened in the Arun area at Walberton. However this was closed two and a half years later when Roy Hamilton retired and became the Walberton Post Office. Chris and Trevor then became co-owners. In 2002 the business was proud and honoured to receive the Arun Area Small Business of the Year Award and continues to build on this achievement. We are members of the Flooring Guild and are supporters of the Carpet Foundation Code of Practice. The Workforce Trevor Long has worked with carpets and floorcoverings for more than 30 years, having worked for Denton Contracts, Flude Carpets, Jordan & Cook and H G Scadgell Ltd., in sales, estimating and fitting. Chris Burgess has spent all his working life in carpets and floorcoverings, having worked for H G Scadgell Ltd., Fludes Carpets, Tower Carpets and, as Trevor, with Dean Carpets as employees. Rita Charlwood looks after our books and accounts (having over 30 years experience). Rita is superb and very hard working and has worked for us for nearly 10 years. She is a keystone to the smooth running of our business. All of our fitters are employed by Dean Carpets on a sub-contract basis. We firmly believe that employing the right people for the job is very important. References are followed up for anybody that works or sub-contracts for our business.
